Regardless of what Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Abbas stated in their speeches at the United Nations General Assembly, neither is genuinely committed to negotiating a peace agreement based on a two-state solution. Both leaders were engaged in empty rhetoric and slogans for domestic consumption instead of proposing new, credible, and constructive initiatives to resume the negotiations that could lead to a peace agreement, which should have been the thrust of their appearances at the UNGA. That, however, was not and still is not the case.

Dominica’s Ambassador, Hubert John Charles was in attendance at the Zouk  in the Park event held in Mount Rainier, Maryland on Sunday September 27, 2015.  Among the attendees from French Caribbean countries was local lawyer and businessman Mr. Gabriel Christian.

Many other Caribbean nations were represented and the music that reflected the Afro-French Caribbean beats provided the perfect atmosphere for the crowd perusing the wares and sampling the culinary delights..

Donald Trump has been making his mark in the field of 2016 GOP presidential hopefuls by being consistently at the head of the polls. His divisive rhetoric seems to have struck a chord among some voters leaving his opponents struggling to keep up. Trump’s statements about deporting illegal immigrants, going to war with Iran and seizing the oil from some of the middle eastern governments is apparently what some of my fellow Americans want to hear from the leader of the “free world.”

This morning, 54 years after three Marines lowered the American flag outside the U.S. Embassy in Cuba, they will join Secretary of State John Kerry to raise the flag over the embassy in Havana once more.
